Friends of the Lincoln Square Theater is a Not-for-Profit organization dedicated to reinventing the historical, downtown Lincoln Square Theatre as a sustainable, community arts, education and entertainment center through strategic partnerships and focus on tourism to promote Decatur economic revitalization, historical preservation and community enrichment.

• Identify, prioritize, budget and plan for building renovation needs
• Develop business plan for initial fundraising to repair the building and for long-term self-sustainability
• Recruit volunteers to help with clean up and renovations
• Implement flexible design ideas for new and creative events
• Align with key partners of non-for-profits and business
• Create a calendar for entertainment and rental bookings
• Spur the economic growth of Downtown Decatur as a destination location

The historical 1916, downtown Lincoln Square Theater provides a unique atmosphere for an experience unmatched by the surrounding area venues. Utilizing strategic partnerships, The Lincoln Square Theater will leverage its’ regional and national centralized location to optimize the tourism potential of Decatur, Illinois. A wide variety of entertainment catering to the diversity of our audience and the envisioned expanded, flexible layout will allow for multiple tailored events simultaneously.
